We’re really excited about our 2009 season! We welcome two new directors:

Johnny Schweir, Learn to Sail Director

Aras Kariatis, Racing Director

Both Aras and Johnny have been St. Joseph Junior Foundation instructors under 2008 Director Casey Ray. Aras is also a member of the Western Michigan University sailing team.

2008 was another great year with many new sailors. The new platform for launching the Opti dinghies helped to launch the boats faster and more safely than ever. Thanks to Casey Ray who has served as our director for the past few years bringing new levels of excellence to the program!

As we say goodbye to the 2008 season, we remember our founding board member John Parrett. His lifelong passion for sailing remains alive and strong though the St. Joseph Junior Foundation. John’s commitment and leadership as a board member was instrumental in providing this community with sailing opportunities for children and adults. To continue his legacy, it is with much gratitude that we welcome John’s daughter, Liz Glendening, to our board.
